  • Our ICC has a total population of c. 36,500.

  • We have a lower proportion of younger people living in our area (25.4% aged under 25 compared to England average of 30.6%).

  • We have a higher proportion of people aged over 65 living in our area – 22% compared to England average of 16.9%.

  • We have a higher number of deaths from stroke compared to the England average.

  • We have slightly higher rates of binge drinking (21.8% compared to England average of 20%)

  • Hospital stays for self-harm are significantly above the England average.

  • In 2014/15 there were 75,621 outpatient appointments, 12,757 A&E visits, 4,221 unplanned and 5,488 planned admissions.
